THE SECRET GARDEN

The Secret Garden: In Genesis chapter 2, God gave Adam and Eve an assignment to dress and to keep the garden of Eden.

To dress it means: To nurture - To avoid spoil

To keep it means : To preserve - Avoid loss

It came to a point in their lives, that they were both deceived by the serpent . In the evening of their fall God visited them as He always had, but did not find them at their secret place, and the Lord asked: where art thou?

When they heard the voice of the Lord in the cool of the day. They hid themselves from Gods presence.

The secret garden is a place where God had designed to speak to His children. His original intent was for man to keep and tend the garden.

It was a secret place where He would talk to them, share with them, pour out His heart to them, reveal Himself to them.

But on this special day, when He was so excited to share with Adam and Eve, fellowship with them and spend time with them. He realised that they had moved from the secret place where He usually met with them.

God had to call out to them, WHERE ARE THOU? God was looking for Adam ad Eve.

Today, God is looking out for us: for you and I. He is saying, WHERE ARE THOU?

Have you abandoned your secret time with God, Your prayer time with Him?

Does He still nudge you to wake up at night just to spend time in the place of prayer?

Have you lost His soothing and overwhelming presence in your life? Times when you feel His presence so strong and your sobbing uncontrollably in your bed and you just love on Him and tell Him how much He means to you? Where He opens His word to you and He calls you my daughter and my son. He reveals Himself to you, He prunes you through His word and shows you, the real you.

Do you still long to worship Him or its a struggle to be in His presence.

Where your obedience to Him is a delight, you don't mind disappointing anyone just to obey Him.

Where you are so broken and when rebuked you readily ask for mercy.

Where you hate sin and eschew evil or too conscious of His presence to behold any evil thing no matter how subtle.

where your words are filled with grace and you just want to please him every single moment and day.

Where its easy for you to forgive and let go of stuffs...

WHERE ARE THOU? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR SECRET PLACE, HAVE YOU LOST HIS VOICE AND PRESENCE IN YOUR LIFE?

God is saying its time to find your secret place, go back to the secret garden. Where He means all to you, where you feel Him closer than the air you breathe and you enjoy His presence. Where you can easily hear Him say, you shouldn't have said this, you shouldn't have reacted that way, and He tells you to apologise. A place where He can lead you to specific souls to preach to, souls He has prepared to receive the precious gift of salvation through you.

When was the last time you really spent time with God and fellowshipped with Him, like a father would to His son or daughter.

In the case of Adam and Eve, the sin of greed and disobedience caused them not to just loose their secret place, but they lost the garden of Eden. They lost the blessings, good tidings and everything God had prepared to give them as long as they remained in the garden.

What is it in your life, that has taken the place of God and has shifted you from your secret place or have made you loose His presence.

Is it sin?

Carelessness

Relationships

Friends

Social media

Misplaced priority

What ever it is, He is calling you back to Him. to the secret garden, into His very presence:

For a LIVING FELLOWSHIP

LIVELY COMMUNION

LOVING FRIENDSHIP

Retrace your steps back to Him and repent. Don't deny God His time with you. Remember where your heart is that is where your treasure lies.

While I I wrote this above I was on my bed sobbing...

This is what happened: I was doing some stuffs and I felt His presence so strong, like when you literally feel someone walk into the room. I wanted to ask Him , Lord what should I do? and He says its time to have a ME TIME ; That is, I want to have a time with you. I said ok Lord, but can I do what am doing and still worship and it was like: He began to say to me, you've had all the day to yourself and I want this time with you and yet you want it shared. You either give me your all or nothing. I felt the pain He experienced . It was like a husband being turned down by His wife.

Don't substitute your time with God for anything and for anyone. Don't let things share or take you away from your secret place and time with God.

like everything in life, people plan. Apart from your quiet time and at night. During the day or within the week set out a time just to spend with God.

Don't deny God when He needs you to fellowship with Him and don't let Him look for you when He comes to the secret place.

If you've lost your secret garden like Adam and Eve , ask God to forgive you and repent from not making Him your priority in your life, desist from every form of sin and carelessness that silences His voice in your life or grieves the Holy Spirit. He is waiting on you and He loves you so much.
